IAM Endorsed Assessors are just beginning to measure organisational maturity against the revised ISO55001:2024 Standard. This webinar will describe the practical experience of assessing two business units within the same large infrastructure organisation that requested deep dive maturity assessments to supplement their organisation-wide ISO55001 certification audit. The first deep dive was conducted in August 2024 against the 2014 Standard and the second in April 2025 against the 2024 version of the Standard. The organisation has agreed that we may share the findings if they are anonymised.
We were extremely surprised at the difference in the results. The subtle changes in the wording of the Standard and the new or refocused clauses had a far greater effect than we first envisaged and resulted in a number of new challenges and non-conformities. This webinar will discuss the difference in practically applying the two versions of the same standard. We believe that any organisation that is already ISO55001 certified and thinks that their next recertification audit will be just more of the same, might in for a bit of a shock unless they fully understand how the 2024 version of the Standard has changed in practical terms and can prepare for this well in advance of recertification.
This webinar will be an interactive session that will:
- Very briefly highlight the changes in ISO55001:2024 (including timelines to transition)
- Give a summary overview of the anonymised outputs of both maturity assessments
- Our practical experience of assessing the NEW requirements
- Decision-making
- SAMP
- Knowledge
- Our practical experience of assessing the changes to existing clauses such as:
- Opportunity
- Predictive instead of Preventive action
- And other more minor changes
- We will use Slido polls throughout section 3 & 4 to ascertain how others think that their organisations would perform against the new criteria.
